Default centipede aquatic habits?

i was recently photographing some stuff using a tub of water with an island in the middle to contain my subjects on and this Peruvian centipede Rhysida celeris andina blew my mind when is slid onto the water and started swimming around like it was a natural thing for it. ive seen other pedes in water and they struggled to get to dry land but this guy was just doing laps not seeming too concerned about its predicament, are there centipedes that are know to have aquatic habits?

I'm not familiar with the species, but I note that the legs seem to get notably longer from front to back...perhaps an adaption for swimming?

I've read that the really giant prehistoric species (found in fossils) are thought to have been primarily aquatic or semi-aquatic. I've often wondered if any of their modern descendant continued with that life style.

legs getting longer from front to back is generally thought of as an adaption to let things run faster, i believe i have read

also, i would be surprised if centi's are all that aquaticlly oriented, as i believe they can not shut their spiracles against the water? would be cool if some species have adaptions that let them close their spiracles as it would also make them much more resistant to dessication
