Friends,
Due to a new opportunity that has cemented itself, and the resulting lack of time and proper effort required to maintain a high level of operations, I have decided to cease operations of Krazy 8's Invertebrates effective November 1. Given Nov. 1 is the Samhain, it feels right to end on a New Year. I have enjoyed the last 8 years, and my thanks to all of you for making them possible. I will not be able to ship, and will only attend shows between now and Nov. 1. Now, this old cowboy tips his hat to you, fires up a cigar, and heads down the dusty trail into the sunset. This is the Announcement I posted on my site. But, I feel compelled to thank many of you personally for your support, generosity, and most importantly your friendship. So here we go, in no particular order. Wade Harrell: Thank you for maintaining the ATS on such a highly professional, yet fun level. Christian Elowsky: Thank you for your humor and dedication. Patrick Mumford: Thank you for being such a giving, hilarious, and wonderful human being. You are a solid man Hombre P, and an even better friend. Tabbie: The Beavis to my Butt-head. I love you dude. Anette: Where oh where would I be without you? We need to have a beverage soon, BvK. Love you, pal. Mitch Blades: Your enthusiasm and dedication never fails to amaze me, and your friendship is pretty cool too. Zach Valois: I've pretty much seen you grow up over the years. Well done, and keep up the good work. Diane and Don: Thank you for your kindness, your accepting nature even when things get "amusing", and the way you pretty much adopted me has never been lost on me. Oh, and your verbal jabs always keep me humble and smiling. Molly: Thank you for your sensibility, love of spiders, and friendship. Matt Verne: Good old Movis; you have become a great friend and sparring partner. Greg Stillwell: The Spider Whisperer; and a great friend to boot. Michael Reid: My brother from another mother; your love of spiders and non-sequitur pop culture has always been cherished. Plus, you breed a mean C. cyaneopubescens. See you soon. If I forgot anyone, please accept my most humble apologies; this ain't the easiest task I've ever embarked upon. But, the timing is right, I believe. With a new opportunity comes new challenges, and I eagerly await them. And, you haven't seen the last of my carcass, as I will attend next year's Conference, and no cooler will be safe. Until then, be well all of you, and continue to go forth. I send hat tips, handshakes and bearhugs; y'all know who gets each. -chris |

Chris,
I see a successful future in you! I wish you lots of luck. You are the one who sold me my first T's, so I give you some of the credit for getting me into the hobby. I appreciate that, it has been a blast. Keep in touch with us if possible! Nick |

Yo Hombre' C!
Had a feeling this was coming but still surprised you know? You and T's will always be like Redford and Newman to me. Two things that just belong with each other. Best wishes from the entire Mumford clan for a happy future my friend.

Hey Chris,
Sorry to see you go. You were the first person I bought a tarantula from, and by coincidence tha last one. (That Phormictopus platus a couple weeks or so ago.) I hope your new endeavor works out well for you - but I also hope you end up finding time to dabble in tarantulas again as well. Looks like Elvis has left the building. |

Chris-
Words can't express the gratitude I feel towards your support of the ATS over the years, but THANK YOU for all you've done, and I know the hobby will miss you in your role as a dealer! However, I also know you'll be in a new role involving invertebrates; and want to congratulate you on your new career. I sincerely hope to see you at future conferences. Now you can just relax and enjoy the thing, although now we'll probably hit you up for talks ![]() Wade |

I second that motion. With Chris's background he could teach us a lot about husbandry, trading and shipping, the commercial side of the hobby, etc.

Chris, not for no reason do I call you the Godfather of my tarantulas.
You planted that little seedling that quickly grew into a passion for tarantulas and I wouldn't be anywhere close to where I am today if it wasn't for you and that big fat G.pulchra ![]() This dusty trail of yours might end here, and I sure know you are at the beginning of a new one that holds many incredible encounters. You know you always have a trail buddy in me, just holler when you need me ![]() |
