So, I was working to get a A. sp flagstaff orange, then my breeder/seller friend got a few more to chose from. I told her that the A. paysoni and the A. schmidti are the other two that I wanted. Soooo, yesterday, I sorta got them, and a C. fasciatum and 2 B. vagans, oh, and a N. chromatus. lol. so yeah...went on a T shopping spree...lol...

lmao! too funny! T-addicted for sure. i do really love my Aphonos. dont know why...just so understated as a tarantula. sure...they kinda all look similar..well...the ones i got do...lol...but the schmidti...wow. i do love her coloring and her markings. the paysoni is a bit fickle. the flagstaff...well...shes hold up in her hide. lol. she must love it in there. i gotta post pics. been lazy tho...lol...the fasciatum is sooooo pretty, even now as small as she is. shes built the coolest web house in the corner of her cube.

Adorable! And I agree that Aphonopelma's are underrated and under-appreciated. Two of ours are not "pet holes", but luckily the A. chalcodes is up against the side of her home and we can check on her without have a stark raving mad lunatic come charging up the tongs like last time!

yours try to fang you? wow...my flagstaff would have clibed me the other day while i was fixing her hide. i thought it was scrating her rump bit i checked it and it was ok. i think they like the hides. the schmidti is out most times. just at the top of hers, off in the corner. if i open the tank up she goes running. lol. the paysoni is pretty calm like the flagstaff. lol. i do love my babies. lol.

Lucky you! For some reason I've only ever got N. chromatus as freebies, thus I have 2 without ever ordering them, lol.
I've thought about getting a T. gigas for a while. They remind me of orangutans, lol! Love the color, too. They're supposed to be heavy webbers, right? And fast too, obviously, being a Tappy & all... ; )

Nikki, our Aphonopelma sp. "Murietta" sealed herself in her half-coconut back in August, and in Feb. we thought there was a "funky" smell, so Denise took the tongs and started to unplug the hide, fearing we'd find a dead Murrie. Instead, Murrie came charging out like a raving lunatic and coming half-way up the tongs, scaring the snot out of both me and Denise! Murrie dropped back down and ran into the hide, so we tossed in a cricket (which didn't last long), and plugged the hole back up. So yeah, I guess you could say that one of our Aphonopelmas tried to fang us - but in her defense, we asked for it by dropping in uninvited! Congrats on the new babies, by the way. And "free" is always good!!

thanks! the paysoni is the calmest i think i have out of all the Aphonos. the flagstaff is a freak, and the schmidti is eh...if i move really slow, and not make too much vibrations i can get her to pose for pics.no one is sealed in tho, as they all have deep-set hides to go into. sometimes i see a booty, or toes, and most nights they come out to sit and well, sit. lol.
the tappy is soooooo fast! but i am faster...for now. lol. didnt have a clue as to what the seller sent so we played "guess the mystery T" last night. hehehe...pink toe, gigas, more pink toe...lol. even a couple guesses for a P. regalis or incei was very entertaining. this T is a very "keep on you toes" kind of T. now the other three (C. elegans)...so teeny tiny, a fff is bigger then they are. lol. all are active tho. and healthy too. can not wait for them to get a bit bigger so i can actually SEE them .lmao!
